UWA Women Record Third Straight 7-0 Tennis Win

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama's women's tennis team recorded its third consecutive 7-0 win by taking care of Southern Arkansas Monday at the Vaughan Tennis Center.
 
Improving its record to 6-4, the Tigers have beaten Montevallo, Delta State and now SAU 7-0 in home matches since March 13. SAU dropped to 14-4.
 
The doubles point came down to a 7-6 (3) win by Sarah Manseri and Liliana Araucz over Aurora Noveti and Simone Simas  at No. 2. Georgina Salom and Andrea Tomassone opened with a 6-2 win at No. 1 before Daryna Hukasian and Haina Franco were beaten at No. 3 to set up the deciding finish at No. 2.
 
Hukasian, Manseri, Tomassone and Araucz won in straight sets for West Alabama in singles. Salom and Franco were forced to tiebreaks before recording their victories.
 
UWA travels to Pensacola to play 17th-ranked Northeastern State in a neutral site match Wednesday on the campus of the University of West Florida.
