No. 12 Tigers Defeat No. 18 Georgia College

PENSACOLA, Fla. – After losing the doubles point No. 12 West Alabama dominated in singles play to score a 5-2 men's tennis victory over No. 18 Georgia College Wednesday at the Carson Tennis Complex on the University of West Florida campus.
 
The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point with win at No. 1 and 2. Erik Nordblom and Noah Johansen won doubles No. 3 over Nathan Connelly and Enzo Kohn, 6-4.
 
"This is a big win for the guys over the 18th-ranked team in the nation," UWA head coach Jeff Beaman said. "We played to a great level of competing after losing a very tight doubles point."
 
Johansen's 6-1, 6-2 win over Cole Heller at No. 6 singles clinched the comeback win for the Tigers. GC had taken a 2-0 lead after winning at No. 1 singles, but UWA battled back with wins from Ilia Vesanen, Nordblom, Linus Holthey, Johansen and Ilia Dehoduik to claim the match.
 
West Alabama returns to action Friday against St. Mary's of Texas. First serve for the neutral site match in Pensacola is 1:30 p.m.
