Tigers Remain Unbeaten in GSC Play

VALDOSTA, Ga. – No. 13 West Alabama extended its winning streak to six matches and remained unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play by defeating Valdosta State, 6-1, in women's tennis Saturday at the VSU Tennis Courts.
 
The Tigers are now 9-4 overall, 5-0 in GSC matches. Valdosta State is 3-10 and 3-2.
 
West Alabama won on every court with the exception of No. 1 singles on the way to the rout.
 
The nation's 12th ranked women's doubles team of Georgina Salom and Andrea Tomassone clinched the doubles point for the Tigers with a 6-3 victory over Estee Widdershoven and Daniella Barta.
 
Sarah Manseri, Haina Franco, Salom, Tomassone and Liliana Araucz won at No. 2 through 6 singles, respectively.
 
West Alabama will meet No. 38 Embry-Riddle Sunday at 9 a.m. in Valdosta.
