Tigers Edge Embry-Riddle for Seventh Straight Win

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The 13th-ranked West Alabama women's tennis team picked up its seventh straight victory by edging No. 38 Embry-Riddle , 4-3, Sunday in a neutral site match at the Anderson Tennis Center.
 
The Tigers are now 10-4 on the year, while Embry-Riddle dropped to 5-8.
 
West Alabama took the doubles point with 6-2 wins at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively. No. 12 Georgina Salom and Andrea Tomassone improved to 8-4 with a win at No. 1, while Daryna Hukasian and Haina Franco won their fourth straight to improve to 8-2.
 
UWA won singles points at No. 5 and 6, with Tomassone and Liliana Araucz winning over Alexis Marshall and Mafalda Soares, respectively. Sarah Manseri, ranked 41st in singles nationally, clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Roberta Krvajica at No. 2.
 
The Tigers next match is April 10 at Lee.
