Tigers Handle CBU 4-0 in Both Matches

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The University of West Alabama tennis teams, both ranked in the top 20 in the country, had little trouble disposing of Christian Brothers in neutral site Gulf South Conference matches at the Garrett Tennis Center.

The 13th-ranked UWA women took care of CBU by a 4-0 score to improve to 12-4 overall and 7-0 in GSC play with their ninth straight win. The 17th-ranked Tiger men also beat the Buccaneers, 4-0. UWA's men, winners of eight of their last 10 matches are 13-4 and 5-2.

The CBU women are 7-13 and 1-8. The Christian Brothers men are 13-11 and 1-7.

Both the women and men got off on the right foot by cruising to the doubles point. Georgina Salom and Andrea Tomassone won at No. 1, while Sarah Manseri and Liliana Araucz won at No. 2. CBU did not field a team at No. 3 doubles.
