UWA Falls to MC in GSC Women’s Soccer Opener

CLINTON, Miss.– The University of West Alabama Women's Soccer team could not stop the Mississippi College Choctaws' attack as the Tigers fell 7-0 Friday afternoon at Robert P. Longabaugh Stadium in the Gulf South Conference opening match for both teams.
 
UWA falls to 2-3-0 on the season and 0-1-0 in the GSC while MC goes to 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the conference.
 
Katie Taylor scored the first four goals for the Choctaws with two in the first half and two in the second half. Following an own goal, Lauren Kate Carter and Avery Hederman scored their first shots of the season to push the lead to the 7-0 final.
 
Mississippi College outshot UWA, 21-5.
 
Brianna Forrest led with two shots, but both TeMia Pride and Lauren George both finished with a shot on goal.
 
Jenni Aarniva (1-2-0) finished with eight saves.
