Tigers Beat DSU for First Conference Win

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of West Alabama Women's Soccer team hit the road for a business trip against the Delta State Lady Statesmen and handled said business with a 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon at Delta Field.
 
TeMia Pride scored her third goal of the season, 42nd of her career, at the 19:34 minute mark. Lauren George added a late goal at the 82:37 mark to give UWA the 2-0 final margin.
 
The Tigers out shot DSU, 10-5, and also took the edge on shots on goal, 5-1.
 
Jenni Aarniva (2-2-0) finished with a save in the victory.
 
West Alabama returns to action Friday, October 4 for the first time in Tiger Stadium in the 2019 season as the Valdosta State Blazers come to town. Start time in Livingston, Alabama is set for 5 p.m. and game links are available on uwaathletics.com.
