Late Goal Lifts Saint Leo over Tigers

SAINT LEO, Fla.– A late goal by Saint Leo's Adriana Tuti Tirado at the 85:15 mark was the difference in a comeback victory for the hosting Lions to hand the University of West Alabama Women's Soccer team its first loss of the 2019 season by the score of 2-1.

Neither UWA (1-1) nor Saint Leo (2-0) could score in the first 45 minutes, but in the second period the Tigers found the back of the net first with a goal from Anele Komani at the 49:25 mark off an assist from Abigail Clanton. It's Komani's second goal this season and Clanton's second assist this season.

Rebecca Anderson evened the score at 1-1 with a goal at the 64:56 mark to get the Lions on the board before Tirado later hit the game winner.

The Tigers outshot Saint Leo 13-10 and had more shots on goal, 7-5. Komani took four shots, with two on goal, to lead UWA while TeMia Pride took three.
