Tigers Sign Grad Transfer Linebacker

LIVINGSTON, Ala.  – Former NCAA Division I linebacker Ricky Chatman has signed with West Alabama as a graduate transfer to play his final year of college football for the Tigers.
 
At 5-foot-11 and 237 pounds, Chatman played in all 12 games at Northwestern (La.) State in 2019 as a linebacker and member of special teams. Northwestern's 2020 fall schedule was postponed until the spring.
 
He was a two-sport letter winner at West Feliciana (La.) High School, where he was an all-district tight end. The Baton Rouge native also helped lead his high school track and field team to the district, regional and Class 3A state title in the shot put while graduating as honor student.
    
His father, Ricky Chatman Sr., played linebacker at LSU from 1980-84.
