UWA (11-14, 6-13) will not qualify for the GSC Championship Tournament so the game against MC (12-13, 9-10) is going to be the season finale for the Tigers. Meanwhile, the Choctaws need a win to stay alive in the hunt for postseason tournament.

The two teams met as the conference opener for both teams back on Nov. 23 with Mississippi College coming away with a narrow 61-58 victory over in Clinton, Mississippi. It was UWA's first loss of the season.

Bria Dent recorded her then third double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Tazsa Garrett-Hammett chipped in 16 points, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers turned the basketball over 24 times.

The Choctaws had four players in double figures led by Zariah Matthews with 17. Mikeba Jones chipped in 12 points, while Shanell Kitchens added 11 and Moriah Hurst 10 points.

Garrett-Hammett is the leading scorer for UWA at 16.2 points per game on 56.1 percent shooting from the floor and she also averages 6.9 rebounds. Dent is still averaging a double double at 14.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. Dent has 16 double doubles which is tied for ninth most in NCAA Division II and is third best in the conference.

Four players average double figures for MC as Matthews scores 14.8 points and dishes 4.8 assists a night, Kitchens is at 11.9 points per game, Coco Hobson scores 11.5 and is the leading rebounder at 7.9 boards a game and Jones is scoring 10.5 points each time out.

With Saturday's contest being senior day, between the women's and men's games the teams will celebrate the senior members for UWA squads. Being honored from the women's team are Sydney Bozeman, Fannasy Garrett-Hammett and Andrea Petrovic.
