WEST ALABAMA
The Tigers are 4-3 on the season after a strong finish over the Montevallo Falcons Saturday afternoon in a non-league game against a Gulf South Conference opponent. UWA fell down by as much as nine points in the fourth, but Tigers put up a 33-15 run on the way to a 74-65 victory. Bria Dent put up a season high 27 points along with nine rebounds and three steals to lead the squad. Tazsa Garrett-Hammett, Naelyn Rios and Zoe Watts all had 14 points each.

MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE
The Lady Choctaws host the midweek game after dropping two contests on the road last weekend to Union in Jackson, Tennessee. The first game was an 81-62 loss Friday night with the second game being a 73-57 defeat last Saturday. This game will be MC's first home contest since Dec. 12, 2020 which was a loss to UAH.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE
The postseason race is starting to shape up and West Alabama and Mississippi College are right in the middle of it as both teams enter the game with a 3-3 record. After the contest on Jan. 26, the teams are scheduled to play two in Livingston, Alabama on Feb. 12 and Feb. 13.

AN EVEN RIVIALRY
Despite the Lady Choctaws winning the last three match ups in this series, the teams are tied 5-5 in the last 10 meetings dating back to Dec. 3, 2015 to start Gulf South Conference play in the 2015-16 season. UWA started the run with three straight wins.

TAZSA TO THE TOP
Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is the all-time leader in free throw attempts in program history at 476 after going 4-for-5 in a win over Montevallo on Jan. 23 surpassing Veronica Lee (2002-06). She's now third all-time in points scored (1,127) and free throws made (286) after passing Ashton Washington (2004-08) on both lists.

BACK IN THE D2SIDA SOUTH POLL
