Women Finish Second, Men Finish Fifth at Three Rivers Rodeo

SIKESTON, Mo – The University of West Alabama rodeo teams competed in the Three Rivers Rodeo Thursday, Oct. 14^th through Saturday, Oct. 16^th in Sikeston, Mo. The women finished in second place, with a score of 270. The men finished in fifth place with 310 points.

Heather McLaughlin finished second place in Goat Tying, while Sheyenne Anderson from Missouri Valley College won Goat Tying. Rebecca St. Martin finished in second place in Barrel Racing.

East Mississippi Community College won the women's side.

Ryder Ladner finished in first place in Calf Roping. Chase Graves finished in second place in Team Roping. His teammate was Mason Theriot, from Pearl River Community College.

MVC finished in first place on the men's side.

"We had a decent weekend, but there's plenty of room for improvement. We plan to use this break as a chance to iron some things out and let a few injuries heal," head rodeo coach Daniel Poole said.

Up next for the Tigers is two weekends off and then a trip Magnolia, Ark to compete at the Southern Arkansas Rodeo Thursday, Nov. 4th through Saturday, Nov. 6th.
