WEST ALABAMA
UWA is 5-0 overall, and 2-0 in conference play after defeating the No. 9 ranked West Georgia on the road, 38-20. After the competition, the Tigers rose to 10th in the American Coaches Division II Coaches' Poll and debuted on the NCAA DII Power Rankings at ninth.
SHORTER
Shorter is 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in the GSC. The Hawks enter Saturday's competition after a 49-13 loss at the No. 4 ranked Valdosta State.
THE TIGERS VS. THE HAWKS
In the last meeting, West Alabama defeated Shorter 41-0 in Livingston. The Tigers last traveled to Rome in 2018 and came home with a 48-17 victory over the Hawks.

TERRELL UP IN RANKS
Chris Terrell has been a defensive force for the Tigers this season. The senior defensive end has had 18 solo tackles, four tackle assists, 3.0 sacks, three quarterback hurries, and one blocked kick. Five of his tackles were for a loss of 15 yards. On the national stage, Terrell has several to-10 stat rankings in the division. He ranks 1st in tackles for a loss, 2nd in solo sacks, 3rd in total sacks, and 5th in tackle for loss yards. He ranks 4th in total tackles for loss, 6th in solo sacks, 7th in total sacks, and 9th n tackles for loss yards.
DUNKLE ON SPECIAL TEAMS
Gabriel Dunkle was named the GSC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the victory over West Georgia. Dunkle was 5-for-5 in extra points and converted a 41-yard field goal. He also had seven kickoffs for an average of 61.4 yards. The Glendora, Calif. native is 8-for-10 (.800) in field goals with a careerlong 47 yards this season. He has tallied 28 kickoffs for 1,610 yards and 18-for-18 on PATs. He is ranked 15th in the division in field goal percentage, 3rd in field goals per game (2.00), and 16th in scoring.
MARTIN ON THE MOVE
Tyriq Martin was recognized at this week's Jack Player of the Week because of his effort during the Tigers victory at West Georgia. Martin turned in a season-best performance with 10 receptions for 166 yards and one touchdown. He also had two big-yard catches that put UWA in prime scoring position to help put the game away. On the season, Martin has made 20 receptions for 359 yards and three touchdowns. He ranks 11th in the conference in All-Purpose yards, 9th in receiving touchdowns, 2nd in receiving yards per game, and 2nd in receptions per game.
