Women’s Hoops at Young Harris Basketball Preview

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team wraps up its last non-conference game against Young Harris on Monday, Dec. 13. Tip-off is set for 10 a.m. in Young Harris, Georgia at the Recreational and Fitness Center.

Heading into the game, the Tigers are 7-2 and 1-1 in GSC play. UWA defeated Young Harris 69-65 on December 7 in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium, handing the Mountain lions their first loss, making their record 7-1. That was the first meeting the two schools have had.

Tazsa Garrett-Hammett and Bria Dent are leading the Tigers. Garrett-Hammett is averaging 13.8 points per game, shooting .667 from the field. The LaGranage, Georgia native collects 6.2 rebounds per game. Dent is averaging 13.2 points per game. The Birmingham, Alabama native is leading in rebounds, avergind 9.6 per game. The junior guard has also made 24 steals.

Jala Williams leads in assists and has dished out 36. The junior point guard has also made 21 steals. Jada Golden follows Williams with 20 assists.

The Mountain Lions guard Carly Winters is averaging 15.2 points per game, while Mackenzie Johnson is averaging 12.4 rebounds per game.
