WEST ALABAMA
The Tigers are 6-4 on the season and 5-4 in the Gulf South Conference after splitting a road series with #21 Union in Jackson, Tennessee. Tazsa Garrett-Hammett went for 27 points while Bria Dent registered 12 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double and Naelyn Rios scored 12 points in the win last Friday, 64-57. UWA lost the Saturday game, 58-48, as the rally from a slow start came up short. West Alabama outscored Union 28-23 in the second half and 42-40 from the second until the end of the contest.

ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE
The Lady Chargers enter the weekend 5-4 overall and in the GSC after splitting a Sunday-Monday series with Delta State in Cleveland, Mississippi. UAH won the first contest 61-60 after Selena Pruitt drained a shot with 34 seconds to put the Lady Chargers ahead while Alexis Woods contributed 15 points and 16 rebounds and Holly Harris scored 19 points. In the second game, won by DSU, Alabama Huntsville was outscored 23-8 in the final quarter on the way to the 64-42 defeat.

SO…WE MEET AGAIN!?
This weekend will mark the third and fourth meetings this season between West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville. The Lady Chargers won the first match up 62-58 to hand the Tigers their first loss of the season. UWA responded with a 55-54 win the next day to split the season series all in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

WE'VE BEEN EVERYWHERE, MAN
The road tour continues for the Tigers as the team will be playing its fifth and sixth straight road games. The Union and UAH trips were originally scheduled for the last two weekends, but the trips to Montevallo on Jan. 23 and Mississippi College on Jan. 26 were additions which stretched the time away from Livingston, Alabama.

ALL ELITE WOMEN
Three top ten conference players will take the court this weekend. Bria Dent and UAH's Alexis Woods both average a double-double with Dent going for 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds and Woods putting up 16.6 points and 11.2 rebounds. Only other player averaging a double-double in the GSC is Delta State's Zyaire Ewing. Meanwhile, Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is scoring 15.1 points per game.
