Tiger Tennis Sweeps Shorter

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama women's tennis team won its sixth straight and the men evened its record by defeating Shorter in Gulf South Conference tennis Wednesday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex. Both Tiger teams defeated the Hawks, 7-0.
 
The 10th-ranked West Alabama women are 11-2 overall and remain undefeated in GSC play at 7-0. The Tiger men are now 6-6 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The Shorter women are 3-8 and 0-8, while the Shorter men are 3-7 and 0-7.
 
Both the UWA men and women won every singles match in straight sets. The Tiger women and women also swept each of the three doubles courts to win the points there.
 
West Alabama is scheduled to host Delta State on Friday with first serve set for 2 p.m. The DSU Men are ranked 11th in the nation with an 8-3 overall record, 2-2 in league play. The Lady Statesmen are 4-6 and 3-4.
