LIVINGSTON, Ala.- Auburn Montgomery won the Gulf South Conference series between UWA and the Warhawks, advancing AUM into post season play while the Tiger's softball season has come to end.

AUM scored four runs on eight hits to defeat the Tigers, 4-2, Sunday afternoon at UWA Softball Complex.

West Alabama's season ended with the Tigers being 18-23 overall and 11-19 in GSC play. Auburn Montgomery improves to 35-5 overall and 25-5 in the conference.

The Tigers scored an early run in the first off LP Trammell's RBI single driving in Cassie Matlock.

AUM then took the lead over, 2-1, in the second by scoring two runs. The Warhawks added another run in the third and the sixth to keep the lead, 4-1.

Trammell hit her seventh home run of the year, with a solo shot in the sixth to cut AUM's lead, 4-2, and close out the scoring for both teams.

Kamree Lay (1-4) took the loss for the Tigers. Lay worked three innings giving up three earned runs while striking out one. 

AUM will continue their season as they move into the GSC Tournament beginning Friday in Oxford, Alabama.
