LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama volleyball team hits the road his weekend for its first road conference game of the season. UWA will take on AUM on Friday, Oct. 1, inside the AUM Athletics Complex.
The Tigers visit Auburn University – Montgomery, the second-ranked team in the Gulf South Conference in kills.
Nyah Whittlesey, a senior outside hitter from Columbus, Ga., leads the Warhawks in kills with 154 kills on the season to average 2.70 kills per set.
AUM in 9-6 on the season and 1-1 in the GSC. Their most impressive win to date is a 3-1 win over Augusta University early in the season. Augusta is now 11-3 and ranked fifth in the Southeast Region. Whittlesey had 13 kills, three blocks, and 11 digs.
The Tigers are 0-9 and 0-3 in the conference. UWA is led offensively by Nathalia Medeiros, who has 86 kills to average 2.61 kills per set. She also has 26 digs and seven blocks.
Outside hitter Madison Fisher heads the defense with 52 digs and three blocks, while Isabela Sarti and Amelia Johnigan lead the team in blocks with 12 each.
