Women’s Basketball Hosts Lee University on Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball hosts Lee University on Saturday, Jan. 28. Tip-off time is set for 2 p.m. at Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

Heading into the game, the Tigers are 12-5 on the season and 6-3 in GSC play. Lee comes to Livingston with a 14-3 overall record and is 7-2 in the conference.

This is the 14th meeting between UWA and Lee. The Flames are leading the series 13-1 over the Tigers.

Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is leading the Tigers' offense with 16.2 points per game, ranking her fifth in the conference in scoring. The senior forward is also averaging 6.9 rebounds per game.

Bria Dent is ranked second in the GSC for rebounds, averaging 10.4 rebounds per game. The Birmingham, Ala. native is also averaging 15.1 points per game, ranking her ninth in the conference. The junior guard leads UWA in steals with 35.

In her absence, Jala Williams is still leading the team with 62 assists and is still ranked second in the GSC.

Lee point guard Haley Schubert is leading the Flames' offense with 17.1 points per game, ranking her third in the conference.
