Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Rallied in Second Half for 4-0 Shutout Over Union

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama men's soccer team rallied in the second half to claim the 4-0 shutout over Union in a Gulf South Conference matchup Sunday evening at Tiger Stadium. 

The Tigers improved to 3-2-5 overall and are now 3-0-4 in GSC play. The Bulldogs dropped to 3-7-1 overall and are -1-5-1 in the conference. 

Neither team had scored heading into halftime of the match. Coming out of the break, Patrick Sacher scored the first goal of the match in the 47th minute to gain the 1-0 lead. UWA extended the lead a minute later by another goal from Sacher, making that his fourth goal of the season. 

Alex Fernandez found the back of the net off an assist from Adrian Evrard in the 56th minute, bringing the score to 3-0.

The last goal of the match came from Brandon Marquez in the 83rd minute, allowing the Tigers to claim the 4-0 shutout over Union. 

UWA took 15 shots with seven being on target. Union took three shots with two being on goal. There were 30 fouls called in the matchup. The Tigers were called for 12, and the Bulldogs were called for eight. 

Goalkeeper Harry Deveney had two saves in the matchup. Union's goalie Tommy Scahill recorded three saves.
