Dent Posted Double-Double in Matchup Against Winona State

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - West Alabama women's basketball team took a 58-55 loss to Winona State Saturday evening in Puerto Rico. 

Jala Williams dropped 18 points and dished out five assists. Bria Dent posted another double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Maryanne Logsdon added 11 points and four rebounds.

 UWA shot 27.1 percent (16-of-59) from the field, 41.7 percent (5-of-12) from beyond the arc, and 72 percent (18-of-25) from the free throw line. 
 
The Tigers trailed 31-24 going into the half. Coming out of halftime, UWA had its best half and outscored WSU 20-15, trimming the Warriors' lead to 46-44. In the fourth quarter, Winona State held the lead and closed the game with a 58-55 win. 

 Winona State shot 37.3 percent (19-of-51) from the field, 28.6 percent (8-of-28) from beyond the arc, and 80 percent (12-of-15) from the three-point line. 
 
Lauren Fech led the Warriors with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Caitlin Riley posted 14 points and three rebounds. Emma Carpenter added 12 points and three rebounds.
 
West Alabama hosts Southeastern Baptist College on Wednesday. Tip-off starts at 5 p.m. at Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.
