UWA Volleyball Set to Host Montevallo and Alabama Huntsville

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama volleyball team is set to host two back-to-back Gulf South Conference matches in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium against Montevallo and Alabama Huntsville to wrap up the Tigers 2022 season. The Tigers head into the matches with a 6-23 overall record.
 
The Tigers take on Montevallo on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Falcons are 17-12 overall and 9-5 in GSC play. 
 
Madison Fisher leads UWA attackers with 185 kills, averaging two per set. Nathalia Medeiros follows Fisher with 179 kills, averaging 1.9 per set. Maddie Van Dyke leads the Tigers with 376 assists. MacKenzie Wells leads the team with 45 service aces and 365 digs. Wells ranks third in the GSC in service aces and seventh in digs. 
 
The Falcons hitter Allie Dishman leads Montevallo's attackers with 303 kills, followed by Macy Martin with 300. Dishman is ranked second in the conference in kills. Martin is ranked sixth. Setter Sav Roys has dished out 557 assists for the Falcons. Libero Casey Henderson leads the defense with 487 digs, ranking first in the GSC. 
 
UWA will take on Alabama Huntsville on Friday at 6 p.m. for senior night. UWA will honor Nathalia Medeiros, Amelia Johnigan, MacKenzie Wells, Isabela Sarti, Maddie Van Dyke, and Madison Fisher. UAH heads into the weekend with a 13-15 overall record and is 7-7 in the conference. 
 
Gracie McGee leads the Chargers with 245 kills, averaging 2.6 per set. Savannah Rutledge has dished out 370 assists this season. Shayla Libby has tallied 257 digs.
