Women’s Basketball Faces No. 19 Union in GSC Matchup on Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team faces No. 19 Union University in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Saturday in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

The Tigers enter the game with a 9-3 overall record and are 6-2 in GSC play. The Bulldogs are 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the conference. This is the 23rd matchup between the two teams. Union leads the series, 20-2.

Bria Dent ranks first in the GSC in scoring and second in rebounds, averaging 18.2 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per contest. Dent ranks 18th nationally in rebounds per game and 33rd in points per game. She has recorded eight double-doubles this season, tying her for fifth nationally. Dent is also ranked second in the GSC in field goal percentage.

Maryanne Logsdon averages 12.8 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game. Logsdon ranks first in the GSC in 3-point field goal percentage and 3-point field goals per game. She ranks 12th in the GSC for scoring and ninth in assists.

Jala Williams averages 10.7 points per game, 6.4 assists per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, and 2.1 steals per game. Williams leads the GSC in assists and ranks seventh nationally in assists per game. She also ranks eighth in the GSC in steals.

As a unit, UWA averages 64.8 points per game, ranking the Tigers sixth in the GSC in offense. The Tigers limit their opponent to 56.5 points per game, ranking second in the conference.

Senior guard Shanique Lucas leads the Bulldogs' offense with 13.5 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game.
