LIVINGSTON, Ala – The West Alabama women's tennis team dropped an exhibition road match 5-2 at South Alabama. The match was played at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts. 
 
"A tough match against a very good team. We battled in a lot of places and just need to keep working hard at what we need to do better at," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said. 
 
In doubles Katia de la Garza and Haina Franco picked up a 6-2 win. South Alabama came back and won the other two doubles matches 6-2 and 6-4 to claim the doubles point. 
 
In singles competition Almudena Sanz defeated Yu Fujioka in two sets 6-2 and 6-2 to earn a point for the Tigers. 
 
Delien Kleinhans beat Hardija Vidnere in the first set 6-2. Vidnere came back to win the next two sets to gain the Tigers final point. 
 
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 5 against Wyoming in McComb, Miss. in the last exhibition match of the season.
