Women’s Hoops Set to Host UAH in Midweek Matchup

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team is set to host Alabama Huntsville in a Gulf South Conference midweek matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 16. Tip-off time is set for 5 p.m. in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

The Tigers are 14-8 overall, 8-6 in GSC play. The Chargers head into the game with a  5-15 overall record and are 4-11 in the conference. 

Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is ranked fifth in the GSC for scoring, averaging 17 points per game. The LaGrange, Ga. native is also averaging 6.7 rebounds per game, ranking her 12th in the conference for rebounds. 

Bria Dent is ranked second in the GSC for rebounds, averaging 10 rebounds a game. The Birmingham, Ala. native is also the second leading scorer for the Tigers. The junior guard is averaging 15 points per game, ranking her ninth in the conference in scoring.

UAH forward Alexis Woods is leading the Chargers' offense with 11.3 points per game. The Athens, Ala. native is also averaging 8.2 rebounds per game.

There will be no admission charge for the game. Fans are encouraged to social distance. Doors will open one hour before tip-off.
