The Tigers Open Postseason Play Tuesday At Valdosta State

VALDOSTA, Ga. - West Alabama women's basketball team takes on Valdosta State at The Complex on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT for the first round of the Gulf South Conference  Championship Tournament.

The Tigers ended the regular season with a 15-12 overall record and are 9-10 in GSC play, entering the tournament as the No.7 seed. The Blazers are the No. 2 seed and ended the regular season with a 22-4 overall record and are 17-2 in the conference.

Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is ranked second in the GSC for scoring. The LaGrange, Georgia native is averaging 18 points per game. She is also averaging 7.4 rebounds per game, ranking her 12th in the conference.

Bria Dent is ranked third in the GSC for rebounds, averaging 9.6 per game. The Birmingham, Alabama native is also averaging 14.3 points per game and is leading UWA in steals with 45.


VSU center Kwajelin Farrar is leading the Blazers' offense with 14.4 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game.
