Women's Tennis Shuts Out GVSU

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Alabama women's tennis team got its second sweep in a row after defeating Grand Valley State 7-0 on Thursday afternoon in a neutral site match at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on the campus of West Florida. 
 
"The women continued their strong year with a dominant win against a strong team," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said. 
 
UWA Improves to 7-3 overall and GVSU falls to 5-4. 
 
The Tigers gained momentum by sweeping the doubles competition and earning the first point of the match. 
 
UWA carried its momentum into singles competition by winning every match. 
 
The women will be back in Gulf South Conference action on Tuesday at Montevallo.
