Men's Tennis Picks up Two Wins

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama men's tennis was able to bounce back on Monday afternoon against No. 14 Ouachita Baptist 4-0 and Spring Hill 6-1 at the Vaughan Tennis Complex. 
 
"A great win against a ranked opponent and we were able to follow it up with a win against Spring Hill. We hope to carry the momentum into the second half of the season," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said. 
 
The Tigers improve to 5-5 on the season and OBU falls to 10-2 and SHC goes to 5-9. 
  
The No. 31 doubles team in the ITA doubles poll that consists of Marcel Hornung and Lucas Hammond took down the No. 14 doubles team Santiago Kearney and Fransico Oliveira from OBU 6-4. The duo defeated Charles Wallace and Ondrej Hlavon 6-4 from Spring Hill. 

UWA won all matches in doubles competition that were completed.
 
In singles play, Loic Danze continued his hot streak of winning two straight matches in singles, improving his overall record to 7-0 this season in singles play. Danze defeated Phil Exner from OBU 6-4, 3-6, and 6-0 in the first match and against Spring Hill won against Wallace 6-1, 6-1. 

UWA won all but one singles matches on the day. 

The Tigers return to Gulf South Conference action on Friday against Lee at 11 a.m. at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.
