Women's Tennis Blanks Lee

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – UWA Women's tennis picked up its eighth shutout of the season by defeating Lee 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the Vaughan Tennis Complex in a Gulf South Conference matchup. 
 
"Our women keep on rolling and are looking to finish spring break with a strong performance against Christian Brothers," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said. 
 
The No. 9 ranked Tigers improve to 10-4 overall and 5-0 in conference while the Lady Flames fall to 4-8 and 2-4. 
 
The No. 8 ranked doubles team of Haina Franco and Katia de la Garza defeated Lisa Kirr and Micaela Belen Maiz 6-4. The Tigers won the remaining doubles matches to claim the lone point. 
 
West Alabama won every singles match to get the sweep against the Lady Flames. 
 
The women will return to the courts against Christian Brothers on Sunday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex with the first serve scheduled for 11 a.m.
