LIVINGSTON, Ala – West Alabama men's tennis fell to No. 6 West Florida 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Vaughan Tennis Complex in a Gulf South Conference match. 

The Tigers suffer the loss and move to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in GSC action. The Argos move to 4-2 and 3-0. 

"The match was a real battle and could have gone either way in so many spots. I like the way the men competed, and I would love for us to play them again at the conference tournament," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said. 

Loic Danze and Nuutti Jokinen won doubles against Salvador Bandeira and Albin Ekenros 7-6, however UWF won the other two doubles matches to get the point. 

In singles, Danze and Bandeira split the first two set and Danze came out on top 10-6 in the third set to get one point. 

Ilia Dehodiuk defeated Bernardo Costa in three sets by a score of 6-4, 2-6, and 6-4 for UWA to get a second point. 

Ilari Vesanen won both sets against Facundo Bermejo 6-4 to claim the third and final point for West Alabama. 

The Argos won on courts one, four, five, and doubles to get the victory over the Tigers. 

UWA will look to bounce back in a non-conferecne match against Grand Valley State on Friday in Pensacola, Fla.
