Men's Tennis Falls Against Valdosta State

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Alabama fell on the short end of a Gulf South Conference match against No. 7 ranked Valdosta State 6-1 at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.

The Tigers drop to 7-6 overall and 4-2 in GSC play. The Blazers improve to 10-4 overall and 6-1 in conference action.

"Our men really pushed their men at a lot of spots, but Valdosta was the tougher team on the day," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said.

The Blazers won all three doubles courts to get the point.

In singles, Loic Danze received the only point for the Tigers defeating Christian Felline 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. With the win, Danze moves to 9-1 overall in singles play.

The Tigers went three sets at three other courts in singles, but ultimately the Blazers came out on top on the remaining courts.

West Alabama returns to the tennis courts on Tuesday at Jacksonville State at 1 p.m. and the Blazers travel to Montevallo on Friday.
