AUM Wins Series Over UWA

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - West Alabama softball team took a 2-0 defeat from Auburn Montgomery in game three of the Gulf South Conference series Sunday afternoon at AUM Softball Complex. With the win, the Warhawks won the GSC series. 

The Tigers dropped to 17-16 overall and are now 9-9 in GSC play. The Warhawks improved to 27-6 overall and are now 15-3 in the conference.

The Tigers produced one hit compared to the Warhawks four. Nicole Buccieri was the only Tiger that collected a hit. 

AUM pushed two total runs across the plate. One in the third inning and one in the sixth inning to claim the 2-0 win over UWA. 

Kacy Noland (2-5) pitched a complete game and took the loss for the Tigers. She gave up two earned runs and struck out one.

AUM Alanna Goble (6-1) claimed the win for the Warhawks. She gave up no earned runs and struck out six.

The Tigers return to action Wednesday as they face Miles College in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. in Pleasant Grove, Ala.
