UWA Baseball Swept by UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – West Alabama baseball's season ended Saturday in a doubleheader against Alabama-Huntsville with the Chargers taking game one 11-6 and game two 7-3 at Charger Park in a Gulf South Conference series. 
 
The Tigers finish the season with a 15-34 overall record and 11-19 in GSC play while the Chargers move to 25-23 and 16-13. 
 
Gavin Rogers (4-4) took the loss in game one while pitching the first five innings and allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits. Devin Sisson, Mateo Lozano, and Austin Goode all worked in relief allowing just one earned run. Mason Hollander (5-10)) absorbed the loss in game two working 5.1 frames and allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits. Gates Pee pitched the final 0.2 inning. 

Connor Brooks (6-4) earned the win for the Chargers in game one working eight innings and allowing five runs with four being earned on 11 hits. Brooks struck eight batters out before Kody Keiser worked the final frame and allowed one earned run on one hit. Tyler Self (6-5) pitched a complete game two allowing three runs on five hits and struck nine batters out. 
 
Brayden Lyman crossed home plate four times on the day and batted in two runs on three hits in game one including his sixth homer of the season. Lyman ends the year with 20 multi-hit games. Gavin Rogers collected five runs batted in on four hits during the doubleheader. 
 
During game one, Garret Bodline batted in four runs and Mitchell Rottier batted in two runs on two hits. In game two, West Alabama led 3-1 entering the sixth inning and then Jeff Hunter hit his 10th homer of the season, a solo shot to begin a six-run inning for the Chargers which lead to a victory for UAH. 
 
With the series sweep over West Alabama, UAH has clinched a spot in the GSC Tournament and will begin play on Friday.
