MC Takes Down UWA 3-0 in Women's Soccer

CLINTON, Miss. – The University of West Alabama women's soccer took a 3-0 loss to 19th ranked Mississippi College on Sunday afternoon at Robert P. Longabaugh Field in Gulf South Conference play. 
 
West Alabama falls to 4-4 and 3-2 in GSC play. MC moves to 7-2 and 4-1. 
 
The Lady Choctaws scored three goals in the first half to earn the victory. Erin Hederman scored her ninth goal of the season in the 19th minute. 
 
Margherita Giubilato knocked in back-to-back goals in the 27th minute and 31st minute. Both were assisted by Hederman. 
 
Paige Laidler and Mikayla Anderson each had a shot-on-goal, Anderson's came in the 51st minute and Laidler's came in the 58th.
 
The Tigers took nine total shots and Laidler led the team with three. MC took 17 total shots and eight were on target. Hedermam had three on-goal. 
 
West Alabama's goalkeeper was Maria Mon and she played 90 minutes and earned five saves. Sara Maleski was in the net for MC and earned two saves. 
 
The match featured 20 fouls and eight were on the Tigers and 12 on the Lady Choctaws. Four yellow cards were handed out during the match.

West Alabama will welcome Christian Brothers to Tiger Stadium on Friday in GSC action. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
