West Alabama and Mississippi College Tie 1-1 in Men's Soccer

CLINTON, Miss. – The University of West Alabama men's soccer team tied 1-1 with Mississippi College on Sunday afternoon at Robert P. Longabaugh Field in Gulf South Conference action.  
 
West Alabama moves to 2-2-4 overall and 2-0-3 GSC record. Mississippi College slides to 6-2-1 and 2-2-1. 
 
The Tigers took an early 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute off a goal by Baronyi Kengeye. The goal was his first of the season and was assisted by Killian Griffin
 
Mississippi College found the equalizer in the 66th minute. Jorge Areces scored his first goal of the season. 
 
The teams battled for the final 24 minutes, but neither team found another goal. 
 
West Alabama's goalkeeper Harry Deveney had four saves, while MC's keeper Santiago Dominguez had four saves. 
 
Kengeye led the Tigers, taking five of the 10 shots. The Tigers had five shots-on-goal. The Choctaws took 11 shots and five were on frame. Soane Folituu took three shots for MC. 
 
Each squad had eight fouls. West Alabama was handed out five yellow cards and MC was issued four.
