Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Second Half Goal Lifts Lions Over Tigers

SAINT LEO, Fla. – West Alabama men's soccer took a loss on the road at Saint Leo 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Saint Leo University Soccer Field. 
 
The Tigers will begin Gulf South Conference play on Friday with a 0-2-1 record and the Lions move to 4-0. 
 
Saint Leo's Sebastian Inigo scored the only goal of the nonconference game in the 53rd minute off an assist from Mauro Diaz. The goal was Inigos's second of the year. 
 
West Alabama had three shots on goal and two were from Peter Oyetunji. Oyetunji's two shots were taken in the 11th and 12th minute, both were saved by the Lions' goalkeeper Ricardo Ceballos. 
 
Baronyi Kengeye took the third shot on frame for the Tigers in the 28th minute and Ceballos picked up his final save of the match. He finished with three saves for the Lions. 
 
Harry Deveney was in the net for UWA and finished the match with four saves and allowed one goal. 
 
West Alabama took seven shots and Saint Leo attempted 10 shots. 
 
The match featured 16 fouls on UWA and 11 on the Lions. Seven cards were issued with two going to Saint Leo, while the Tigers had five.

UWA will open GSC play at Spring Hill on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Library Field in Mobile, Alabama. Saint Leo will play Rollins College on Wednesday.
