Men’s Soccer Opens GSC Play Against SHC and UWF

MOBILE, Ala. - West Alabama men's soccer team opens Gulf South Conference play this weekend against Spring Hill College and West Florida.

The Tigers battle SHC on Friday at Library Field in Mobile, Alabama at 3:30 p.m. UWA hosts West Florida on Sunday at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

Harry Colville leads the Tigers with five shots, one being on goal. The York, England native has scored the only goal of the season. Goalie Harry Deveney (0-2) has recorded nine saves over three games.

UWA heads into the weekend with a 0-2-1 overall record. SHC is 1-2 overall. The Badgers claimed a win over Tusculum, but fell to Carson-Newman and Rollins.

Forward Johannes Hanken Tjostheim has scored three goals for the Badgers, and has recorded a game-winner. He has taken five shots with four being on target. Goalkeeper Lucas Pezzano (1-1) recorded four saves over three games.

After the SHC matchup, the Tigers will host West Florida. West Florida heads into the weekend with a 2-2 overall record. The Argonauts open GSC play against Alabama Huntsville on Friday before playing UWA on Sunday.

Keegan Ancelin, Kendrick Hernandez, Kainan Dos Santos have all scored two goals for the Argonauts. Goalie A.J. Evans has recorded eight saves this season.
