Tigers Fall to UAH on the Road, 71-60

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team took a 71-60 loss to Alabama Huntsville Saturday afternoon inside Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.
 
The Tigers dropped to 9-10 overall and are 6-9 in GSC play. The Chargers improved to 4-15 overall and are 4-11 in the conference.
 
Bria Dent and Zoe Watts scored double figures in the matchup. Dent dropped 21 points and pulled down 10 boards. Zoe Watts posted 18 points. 
 
Maryanne Logsdon grabbed 10 rebounds and scored seven points. Jala Williams scored seven points and dished out seven assists. Kamille Clark scored four points and three assists. Takesia Barnes added three points and four rebounds. 
 
The Tigers were tied twice, and there were three lead changes. The Chargers were up 34-28 at the half. The third quarter was a back-and-forth battle, but the UAH extended the lead 50-45. 
 
With 6:47 remaining in the fourth quarter, Zoe Watts hit a pair of three-pointers, and Williams and Dent both made jumpers to cut the Chargers' lead to 58-57. UAH then responded with a 13-3 run to close the game out with a 71-60 win.
 
UAH shot 45.6 percent (26-of-57) from the floor, 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from beyond the arc, and 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the free throw line. Alaina Taylor led the Chargers with 17 points. 
 
The Tigers head to Cleveland, Tennessee, on Thursday to face Lee University. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. CT at Paul Dana Walker Arena.
