Women's Soccer Shuts out Delta State

LIVINGSTON, Ala.- The University of West Alabama women's soccer team defeated the Statesmen of Delta State in full time by a score of 3-0 at Tiger Stadium in Livingston.  

West Alabama out shot Delta State 11 shots to eight, with seven shots on goal for the Tigers and four shots on goal for the Statesmen.  

Lily Graham was first on the scoring column tonight, finding the back of the net in the 27th minute assisted by Sierra O'Grady. The Statesmen couldn't find a rhythm offensively, as they took only one shot on goal in the first half.  

Dior Wilson Recorded four saves on the night for the Tigers, one in the first half and three in the second. Aileen Charles joined Lily Graham on the scoring list in the mid second half, giving the Tigers a commanding 2-0 lead.  

Sierra O'Grady assisted in pouring it on the Tiger's founding GSC rival, scoring unassisted at the 85' mark. West Alabama advances to 5-7-2 overall, with a 5-4-1 record in GSC play, while the Statesmen fall to 3-10-1, with a 2-7 record in the conference.  

The Tigers will hit the road for their final three regular season matches, with their next stop being in Huntsville to take on Alabama Huntsville on Friday, October 20th. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
