LIVINGSTON, Ala.- The University of West Alabama volleyball closed out the season on Senior Day in Livingston against Mississippi College, falling in four sets.
Senior Ally Craig led the Tigers in kills today with ten, followed by Jaida Alvin with nine. Berfin Mertcan led the charge on aces with four on the day, along with a team high 16 assists. Senior Quiara Dunson had 19 digs on the day. Senior Johanna Martin led the team in blocks with three.
The Tigers dropped a close set one as Johanna Martin stumbled on an attack error. The Tigers played possibly their best set of the season to tie the match up, finished off by a service ace from Berfin Mertcan. The Choctaws finished off the third set walloping with a six-point tear to give the Choctaws a 2-1 lead.
Once again, the Choctaws cleaned out the final set with a six-point game ending swing, finished off by an attack error from Ally Craig to give Mississippi College the victory.
West Alabama finishes the season 5-25 overall with a 2-14 record in the GSC.
