Tigers Take on Christian Brothers and Union on the Road

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - West Alabama women's basketball team takes on two Gulf South Conference teams on the road this weekend.

The Tigers head to Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday to face Christian Brothers at 5 p.m. inside Canale Arena. UWA enters the game with a 12-12 overall record and is 9-11 in GSC play.

The Bucs are 11-13 overall and 8-12 in the conference. Jeremiah Montgomery leads CBU's offense with 14 points per game.

Bria Dent averages 19 points per game, ranking her first in the GSC and 23rd nationally in points per game. She averages 10.7 rebounds per game, ranking her second in the GSC and 10th nationally. Dent has recorded 16 double-doubles this season, ranking her fourth nationally.

Maryanne Logsdon averages 10.8 points per game, ranking her 19th in the GSC in scoring. She averages 4.3 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game. She ranks 19th in the conference in assists and fifth in 3-point field goals per game. Zoe Watts averages 10.6 points per game, ranking her 22nd in the GSC in scoring.

Jala Williams leads the GSC in assists with 143 and is tied for seventh nationally in assists per game. She also ranks ninth in the GSC in steals with 43. Williams averages 10.1 points per game, ranking 25th in the conference.

As a unit, UWA averages 61.5 points per game. The Tigers limit their opponent to 59.2 points per game.

Heading into weekend action, the Tigers face Union on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fred DeLay Gymnasium in Jackson, Tennessee. The Bulldogs are 19-3 overall and 17-3 in the conference. Shanique Lucas leads Union's offense with 14.5 points per game.
