Tigers Wrap Up the Regular Season with Two Home Games

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team wraps up the regular season with two home games inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium this weekend.

The Tigers take on Valdosta State on Thursday at 5 p.m. Fans and students are encouraged to wear white to the game.

UWA is 13-13 overall and 10-12 in GSC play. The Blazers bring a 19-5 overall record and an 18-4 conference record to Livingston. Taylor Searcey leads VSU's offense with 12.4 points per game.

Bria Dent averages 18.5 points per game, ranking her second in the GSC and 30th nationally in points per game. She averages 10.8 rebounds per game, ranking her second in the GSC and ninth nationally. Dent has recorded 17 double-doubles this season, tying her for third nationally.

Maryanne Logsdon averages 10.8 points per game, ranking her 19th in the GSC in scoring. She averages 4.5 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game. She ranks 19th in the conference in assists and fifth in 3-point field goals per game. Zoe Watts averages 10.5 points per game, ranking her 21st in the GSC in scoring.

Jala Williams leads the GSC in assists with 152 and is tied for seventh nationally in assists per game. She also ranks ninth in the GSC in steals with 47. Williams averages 10.4 points per game, ranking 23rd in the conference.

As a unit, UWA averages 61 points per game. The Tigers limit their opponent to 59.3 points per game.

Heading into weekend action, the Tigers face West Florida on Saturday at 2 p.m. Fans and students are encouraged to wear black to the game. Senior recognition will be held right after the women's game. The five seniors that will be honored are Bria Dent, Takesia Barnes, Jala Williams, Ella Noble, and Zoe Watts.

The Argos are 19-6 overall and 18-4 in the conference. Jaclyn Jarnot leads UWF's offense with 16.4 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game.

Both live stream and live stats will be available for the game. The matchup will also be broadcast live on SLY104.9 with commentary from Will Atkinson on Thursday and Jason Gardner on Saturday.
