Women’s Tennis Takes Down Christian Brothers in a GSC Match

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – West Alabama women's tennis team defeated Christian Brothers, 6-1, in a GSC match Monday afternoon at Southaven Tennis Complex.
 
"I want to praise Haina Franco for her battle at court No. 1," head coach Jeff Beaman said. "Her opponent was going after everything and making it, even though we had won the team match she gave everything through her last point of the match."
 
In doubles play, Franco and Ming Deewajee defeated CBU's Beatriz Costa and Fleur Verkuijl, 6-1, getting the Tigers' first doubles point on court No. 1. Heden Ly and Hardija Vidnere defeated Gabriela Marin and Viktoria Grigoreva, 6-2 clinching the doubles point on court No. 3. The Takanashi sisters defeated Chelsea Dzenga and Ellie Hire, 7-5 on court No. 2.
