Men’s Tennis Falls to Lynn Sunday Afternoon

BOCA RATON, Fla. – West Alabama men's tennis team fell to Lynn 4-2 in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon at Perper Tennis Complex.

"The men battled but came up short against a very tough team," head coach Jeff Beaman said. "Time to get some sleep and on the road for another tough match at Florida Southern."
 
The Tigers are 9-6 overall. The Fighting Knights improve to a 10-4 overall.

In doubles play, Lucas Hammond and Marcel Hornung defeated LU's Diego Gonzalez and Gianmarco Amatiste, 6-2 on court No. 1. Wilson Igbinovia and Nuutti Jokinen defeated LU's Haktan Garayev and Gabriele Felling on court No. 3, 6-4 clinching the doubles point for the Tigers.

In singles play, Jokinen was defeated by LU's Yaron Gubberman on court No. 3, 6-2, 7-5. Hornung was defeated by LU's Gabriele Felline 6-2, 7-6, on court No 2. Ilari Vesanen was defeated on court No. 1 by LU's Diego Gonzalez in a three-set battle, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Igbinovia defeated LU's Ray Chavez on court No. 4, 6-2, 6-1. Hammond was defeated on court No. 6 by LU's Haktan Garayev in a three-set battle, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3. Loic Danze went unfinished on court No. 5.
