Men’s Tennis Falls to Barry Thursday Afternoon

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – West Alabama men's tennis team fell to Barry, 4-1, Thursday afternoon in a non-conference match at Buccaneers Tennis Center.

"I like the way the men competed against a tough team today after the rough week of matches," head coach Jeff Beaman said.

The Tigers fall 10-7 overall. The Buccaneers improve to 12-4 overall.
 
In doubles play, Ilari Vesanen and ILoic Danze were defeated by BU's Alessandro Giuliato and Alejandro Palacios on court No. 2, 6-2. On court No. 3, Wilson Igbinovia and Nuutti Jokinen and were defeated by BU's Alessio Demichelis and Tim Buttner, 6-4. Lucas Hammond and Marcel Hornung went unfinished on court No. 1.
 
In singles play, Hornung was defeated by BU's Alessandro Giuliato on court No. 2, 6-2, 6-0. Jokinen fell to BU's Alejandro Palacios on court No. 3, 6-4, 6-3. Igbinovia defeated BU's David Rieme on court No. 4, 6-2, 6-3. Vesanen was defeated by BU's Alejandro Ilbanez on court No. 1, 6-1, 6-4.
 
"We need to heal up and get ready for Mississippi College and Senior Day next week," Beaman said.
