Women’s Tennis Falls to Barry Thursday Afternoon

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – West Alabama women's tennis team fell to Barry, 4-0, Thursday afternoon in a non-conference match at Buccaneers Tennis Center.
 
"This week has been four very high-level battles and I feel we learned a lot from this trip, moving in to the GSC tournament and hopefully Nationals," head coach Jeff Beaman said.  
 
The Tigers fall to 16-4 overall. The Buccaneers improve to 16-0 overall.

In doubles play, Haina Franco and Ming Deewajee were defeated by BU's Deniz Khazan and Daniela Farfan on court No. 1, 6-1. The Takanishi sisters were taken down by BU's Dinara Alloiariva and Nathalia Gasparin on court No. 2, 6-2. Hardija Vidnere and Heden Ly went unfinished on court No. 3.

In singles play, Yurie Takanishi was defeated by BU's Dinara Alloiariva on court No. 2, 6-0, 6-2. Emiri Takanishi fell to BU's Selina Pichler on court No. 6, 6-1, 6-2. Vidnere was defeated by BU's Xiyao Wang on court No. 4, 6-4, 6-2. Franco, Ly, and Deewajee all went unfinished on their courts.
