Men’s Tennis Defeats Delta State in a GSC Match

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama men's tennis team defeated Delta State in a Gulf South Conference match Saturday afternoon at Vaughan Tennis Complex, 6-1. 
 
"The Delta men came in shorthanded but not short on fight," said head coach Jeff Beaman said. "Next up this week are the powerhouses of the GSC, West Flordia and Valdosta State."
 
In doubles play, Marcel Hornung and Lucas Hammond defeated DSU's Franco Roldan and Jude Heraut on court No. 1, 6-2. Nuutti Jokinen and Wilson Igbinovia were defeated on court No. 2 by DSU's Emiliano Elizarraraz and Sebastiano Sola 6-3. DSU did not have enough players, so they had to forfeit court No. 3. 
 
In singles, Loic Danze defeated DSU's Jude Heraut 6-0, 6-2. On court No. 4 Lucas Hammond took down DSU's Sebastiano Sola 6-0, 6-2. Marcel Hornung defeated DSU's Emiliano Elizarraraz 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 on court No. 1.
