Men’s Tennis Drop GSC Match Against West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Alabama men's tennis team dropped their match 5-2 Tuesday afternoon against West Florida at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
 
"The men were close in the doubles and pushed West Florida in the singles, but they are always tough at their place, and we came up a little short today," head coach Jeff Beaman. 
 
The Tigers are 6-3 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Argonauts are 6-1 overall and 4-1 in conference. 
 
In doubles play, Iliia Dehodiuk and Ilari Vesanen defeated UWF's Joaquin Estevez and Facundo Bermejo on court No. 2, 6-2. Nuutti Jokinen and Wilson Igbinovia were defeated by UWF's Albin Ekenros and Adam Svensson, 6-3 on court No. 3. Marcel Hornung and Lucas Hammond dropped their match on court No. 1, 6-4. 
 
In singles play, Hornung retired due to an injury. Igbinovia defeated UWF's Bernardo Costa 6-4, 6-3 on court No. 4. Hammond had a hard fight and defeated UWF's Joaquin Estevez 6-3, 3-6, 12-10 on court No. 5.
