Tiger Softball Sweeps CBU in GSC Series

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama's softball team shutout Christian Brothers 5-0 in game three to close the series with a Gulf South Conference sweep.
 
The Tigers improved to 14-4 overall and are 8-1 in GSC play. The Bucs dropped to 3-9 overall and are 0-6 in the conference. 

Madison Wright (8-3) allowed only one hit and did not give up any earned runs. She struck out nine over seven innings of work. CBU's pitcher Kelsey Wurm was tagged with the loss. She gave up two earned runs on two hits over one inning.
 
Ann Marie Stanbridge and LP Trammell each hit a home run in the first inning. Taylor Clegg hit a two-run homer in the third inning, scoring Kelsie Gilliam. Emily Cowart doubled in the fourth inning, bringing Hannah Mynard home to claim the 5-0 win. 
 
Trammell went 2-for-2 at the plate, had an RB, and scored a run. 
 
The Tigers return to UWA Softball Complex on Tuesday for a midweek matchup against Spring Hill. The doubleheader is set for 3 p.m.
