LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama celebrated its Homecoming with a solid 2-0 win over Alabama-Huntsville on Friday at the UWA Soccer & Track Complex.
Brookelyn Still opened the scoring for the Tigers in the 11th minute, netting her first goal of the season with an assist from
Selis Demirci. UWA extended its lead in the 18th minute when
Aileen Charles found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season, sealing an early 2-0 advantage.
Despite Alabama-Huntsville's relentless attack, with 23 shots overall and nine on goal, West Alabama's defense held firm. Goalkeeper
Dior Wilson made nine crucial saves to keep the Chargers scoreless, helping secure the Tigers' third win. West Alabama managed 11 shots of their own, with six on target, and maintained composure throughout the match, even as fouls increased in the second half.
